Des Moines Youth Hockey Association

The Russell Stover Tier I AAA hockey program out of Kansas City, MO is adding 2 additional teams to their Tier I AAA hockey program for the upcoming 2008-09 season. In addition to the U-18 and U-16 teams, a 1995 and 1996 teams are being added. The Russell Stover program offers all players from the Midwest League/Tri State Region an opportunity to try-out to play AAA hockey. For the 1995 and 1996 teams there were 2 try-outs held for each team. One was an open try-out held in June and the others were an invite try-out held in July and early August from which the teams were selected. Players from all the associations in the Midwest League participated in the try-outs and the teams will start playing games in late September. We have over 15 Des Moines Youth Hockey players and coaches involved this season on the 95 and 96 teams and we look forward to helping continue to develop players who wish to take their game to the AAA level and beyond.  The DMYHA board would like to wish all players and coaches the best of luck this season competing at the AAA level.
